Monza Fiorentina prediction 2023-04-23

Monza vs Fiorentina prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2023-04-22 13:00.
Buoyed by a 1-0 victory against Inter Milan at the San Siro last weekend, a triumphant Monza return home looking to secure back-to-back Serie A (SA) victories for the first time since October. Boss Raffaele Palladino labelled that victory against Inter “incredible” and you could also argue Monza’s season as a whole has been incredible given they sit so comfortably clear of the drop zone in their maiden SA campaign.

With such a comfortable position often comes the late season pitfalls of having ‘nothing to play for’, but that perhaps isn’t the case for Monza, who are pushing hard for a top-half finish. They’re hunting down Fiorentina, and could move within a point of La Viola with victory here, but with just one win from their last seven home league games (D4, L2), Monza are showing signs of struggle at home.

One side who aren’t really showing many signs of slowing up at the moment is Fiorentina, despite the fact their incredible 15-match unbeaten run in all competitions was ended by Lech PoznaƄ in midweek as they fell to a 3-2 defeat. That wasn’t enough to knock Vincenzo Italiano’s men out of the UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL), as they advanced to the semi-finals thanks to a 6-4 aggregate victory.

It’s perhaps no surprise to see Fiorentina going full pelt at the UECL given it’s likely their best avenue into Europe next season, as Juventus’ successful points deduction appeal leaves them seven points adrift of seventh place ahead of the round. There’s still the small matter of the Coppa Italia semi-finals to deal with too, leaving La Viola with three possible routes into Europe, but a hectic fixture schedule in tow.

Players to watch: Monza’s Patrick Ciurria (G4, A5) is one of just six Italian players in SA to lay on five assists ahead of the round, with one of those coming in the reverse fixture (1-1). Fiorentina may look to Giacomo Bonaventura for some early inspiration given he has scored the game’s opener with all four of his SA goals this term.

Hot streak: Monza’s last 11 SA goals have all been scored by different players!
