Monza Fiorentina prediction 2025-01-13

Monza vs Fiorentina prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2025-01-12 19:45.
[p]Things are looking fairly bleak for Monza, who sit bottom of the table at the midway point of the Serie A season and seven points from safety. Ominously for the Biancorossi, 33 of the last 35 teams to sit bottom of Serie A after matchday 19 went on to be relegated, so it’s looking gloomy for a side who are on a five-match losing streak in the Italian top-flight – the joint-longest such run in their history. [/p]

[p]That terrible streak, which incredibly saw them lose all five games by a 2-1 scoreline, only tells half the story for a side who are actually winless in 11 Serie A games (D3, L8) and have won just one of their last 28 in the league (D10, L17). Even that single win came on the road, so there appears little hope of Monza claiming a second win of the campaign at the U-Power Stadium, where they’ve lost their last five league games, all by a single-goal margin. [/p]

[p]The picture seems much brighter for Fiorentina, who begin this round only three points shy of the top four whilst holding a crucial game in hand, so you’d expect confidence to be high. That’s perhaps not necessarily the case for La Viola though, who actually come into this game winless in five in all competitions (D2, L3), so a clash against basement dwelling Monza could be the perfect way to get back on track.[/p]

[p]That’s especially true as Fiorentina have won their last seven Serie A matches against sides starting the round bottom of the table, and with the last five of them coming ‘to nil’, this clash could be one-sided. There’s an extra layer of spice here too as Fiorentina boss Raffaele Palladino returns to the club he left in the summer hoping to secure a better result than the 2-2 he managed in the reverse – never before have both league H2Hs been drawn in the same season. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Gianluca Caprari has scored more Serie A goals against Fiorentina than any other side (five), four of which came before half-time. Fiorentina’s Moise Kean will be out to steal the first-half limelight having netted eight of his 11 league goals this term in the opening 45 minutes. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Fiorentina are the only Serie A side yet to concede a goal in the opening 15 minutes of a league game this season. [/p]
