Monza Torino prediction 2025-03-02

Monza vs Torino prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2025-03-01 11:30.
[p]Alessandro Nesta may have kicked off his second spell in charge of Monza with a clean sheet (0-0 vs Lecce), but Monday’s 4-0 thrashing away to Roma kept them firmly at the bottom of the Serie A table. With just 12 matches remaining and a nine-point gap to safety ahead of this weekend, relegation looms large for the Biancorossi, who have accumulated only four points since the start of December (W1, D1, L10).[/p]

[p]History offers little encouragement, as just one of the 25 teams with 14 or fewer points at this stage of an Italian top-flight season has ever avoided the drop. Nesta will therefore need to pull off a great escape akin to Davide Nicola with Crotone in 2016/17, although with four points from their last three home games (W1, D1, L1), Monza will perhaps believe their revival could start here.[/p]

[p]Torino secured a 2-1 win over AC Milan last weekend, only their third victory in 17 matches (D8, L6), but they remain in the bottom half of the table. The Maroons now have the opportunity to record back-to-back wins for the first time since August, when they began the campaign with two victories in their first three Serie A games. Six draws in their last nine outings (W2, L1) may not inspire confidence they can achieve that feat on Sunday, but considering Torino have come from behind to rescue a point in four of those encounters, they have shown resilience.[/p]

[p]That fighting spirit could be key to improving on their recent ten-game away record (W1, D4, L5). Notably, two of those draws came against high-flying Atalanta and Fiorentina, both ending 1-1, the scoreline in three of Torino’s last four meetings with Monza (W1), including in this season’s reverse fixture.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Monza’s Georgios Kyriakopoulos has scored both of his goals in Serie A this term at home, each time equalising to make it 1-1. Liking to strike at a similar time, Torino’s Nikola Vlašić has scored the second goal of the match with four of his last five league goals.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Monza have kept a joint-league low one Serie A home clean sheet this season.[/p]
