Monza vs Venezia prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2024-10-26 14:00.
[p]Head coach Alessandro Nesta picked up his first-ever Serie A victory in the dugout as Monza beat Hellas Verona 3-0  on Monday, moving them one point above the relegation zone heading into this round of fixtures. In the process, it also ended the Biancorossi’s painful 16-game winless run in the top flight since mid-March (D7, L9), and they will be eager to continue moving up the table when they host Venezia.[/p]
[p]To achieve that, Monza will need to halt their eight-match sequence without a victory at home in Serie A (D3, L5), which did at least see them pick up creditable points against Roma and reigning champions Inter Milan (both 1-1) this season. Perhaps a better start could help here, as the Lombardy outfit have conceded first at Stadio Brianteo in six of their last seven top-flight encounters, opening the scoring only against Inter – after the 80th minute![/p]
[p]Following their third consecutive defeat – this time at the hands of Atalanta (2-0) – Venezia remain stuck at the foot of the table (W1, D1, L6) after suffering at least six losses in their opening eight top-flight matches for just the fourth time in their history. There is hope for Eusebio Di Francesco’s men though, as the Winged Lions avoided going down once in those previous three seasons, finishing 11th back in 1998/99.[/p]
[p]However, with their last three Serie A campaigns ending in relegation, Venezia remain big outsiders to stay up, a viewpoint which is further strengthened when taking into account their five competitive losses in six away outings this term (D1), despite opening the scoring in the first half in three of the last five. Perhaps a look at recent history will give Di Francesco’s squad some confidence, as the visitors have won the last two competitive H2Hs here.  [/p]
[p]Players to watch: With his brace last time out, Dany Mota now has three goals in Monza’s last two matches, while three of his four goals this season have come in or after the 70th minute. Someone else who has enjoyed striking late recently is Joel Pohjanpalo, who has scored four of his last five goals for Venezia beyond the 55th minute.[/p]
[p]Hot stat: Venezia have conceded a league-high seven goals inside the opening 30 minutes going into this weekend. [/p]
