Nantes Monaco prediction 2023-04-09

Nantes vs Monaco prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2023-04-08 15:05.
Nantes fans might be looking ahead to their second consecutive Coupe de France (CDF) final appearance after their midweek 1-0 win over Lyon but there’s work to do before then if they’re to stay in Ligue 1. Although they’re four points clear of the drop zone coming into the round, they’ve won none of their last six league games (D2, L4) so could really do with picking up where they left off against Lyon.

Five of their remaining nine Ligue 1 games are at home, but being on familiar turf hasn’t proved especially helpful recently as they’ve won just one of their last six home league fixtures (D2, L3). Last weekend’s 3-0 humbling by Reims was particularly galling as it was their heaviest home league defeat since going down by the same scoreline to defending champions Paris Saint-Germain in September.

Alarm bells could be ringing for Nantes as a Monaco side pushing hard for Champions League qualification next season arrive looking to make it ten league H2Hs unbeaten (W7, D2). But which Monaco will show up? Manager Philippe Clement admitted he was “very angry” at half-time after seeing his side’s “two faces” when they allowed Strasbourg back into a game they eventually won 4-3 last weekend.

They should know that taking their foot off the accelerator if they go ahead again wouldn’t be advisable here as, despite their excellent league H2H record at Stade de la Beaujoire, the Monégasques were beaten here in last year’s CDF semi-final. However, they’ve generally been getting the balance right on the road as they’re unbeaten in eight league away fixtures (W5, D3).

Players to watch: Ludovic Blas will be on a high after his brilliant winner against Lyon, which was his third goal in four to come between the 55th and 70th minute. Meanwhile, Monaco’s Eliesse Ben Seghir has won all three of his goalscoring appearances this term, all in games featuring over 4.5 goals!

Hot streak: The second half was drawn in each of the last eight H2Hs (Monaco: W5, D2, L1).
