Nantes Nice prediction 2024-10-20

Nantes vs Nice prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-10-19 15:00.
[p]Only goal difference separates Nantes and Nice – who occupied mid-table positions during the international break – nicely setting up this Sunday evening Ligue 1 clash. It’s a particularly interesting test for Nantes, as all nine of their points so far this season have been collected against sides starting this round beneath them in the standings, while in their most recent encounter, they were reminded by Lyon (L 2-0 away) how much work there is to do to rise up the table. [/p]

[p]It was a disappointing result for head coach Antoine Kombouaré, so the break would have been a timely reset for both him and his players as they look to work out how to end a four-game winless league run (D2, L2). That sequence includes two home matches in which they couldn’t convert opening goals into victories, which Kombouaré assessed as a “mental problem” that urgently needs addressing. [/p]

[p]Little has split Nantes and Nice in recent H2H history, but Nice haven’t won any of their last five competitive meetings (D2, L3), so this would be the perfect opportunity to break that drought. They’ve been on a wild ride recently under new boss Franck Haise, holding Lens (0-0) and champions Paris Saint-Germain (1-1) to draws after their history-making demolition of Saint-Étienne (8-0). [/p]

[p]Haise’s expertise could be just what Nice need to secure a long-awaited triumph over their hosts, after he oversaw commanding wins in each of his last three Ligue 1 personal Ligue 1 H2Hs. And having conceded fewer goals than all but three French top-flight clubs at the start of this round in 2024/25, the Eagles promise to be a tough test for a Nantes attack averaging little more than a goal per game this term. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Searching for his second goal of the season, Matthis Abline could be inspired by his last performance against Nice in which he scored and assisted in a 2-1 victory. New recruit Jonathan Clauss brings with him a personal undefeated record against Nantes (W3, D3), having registered two assists in those matches. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Nantes have scored in six of their last seven Ligue 1 home games despite winning only one (D1, L5). [/p]
