Napoli Cagliari prediction 2025-05-23

Napoli vs Cagliari prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2025-05-22 18:45.
[p]The Serie A title looks set to be decided this Friday evening, with Napoli still leading Inter Milan by one point after both sides drew at the weekend. Napoli know that a win against Cagliari guarantees them a fourth Scudetto in their history, while matching Inter’s result against Como will also get the job done, but if they lose and Inter draw, the two teams will contest a one-off decider at a neutral venue.[/p]

[p]Head coach Antonio Conte is close to winning Serie A with his third different club, but he will not be in the dugout after receiving a late red card against Parma on Sunday. Napoli will hope his absence isn’t too sorely felt, as they’re unbeaten at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona since early December in the league (W7, D3) and have scored at least twice in each of their last five such matches (W4, D1).[/p]

[p]Standing in their way are a Cagliari side now safe from relegation but unable to finish any higher than the 14th place that they currently occupy, although a 3-0 win against Venezia last weekend proved they can’t be taken lightly. After that victory secured their top-flight status for another season, the reality is that they have nothing left to play for and are on an eight-game winless streak against Napoli (D3, L5).[/p]

[p]As they have won on only one of their last 14 visits there (D4, L9), it is hard to imagine them ending that run. And with the Sardinians having tasted victory in just one of their last nine league fixtures on the road (D3, L5), hopes of finishing a Serie A campaign with a win for the first time since 2017/18 seem remote.[/p]

[p]Key battle: Giacomo Raspadori has scored in two of Napoli’s last three matches, while all three of his goals netted at home this term have arrived on or beyond the hour mark. Cagliari defender Yerry Mina must therefore be alert throughout, and after marking his comeback from injury on Sunday by scoring, Cagliari have kept clean sheets in three of his last five appearances.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Napoli have not lost their final league game of the season since 2018/19 (W3, D2).[/p]
