Napoli Verona prediction 2026-01-07

Napoli vs Verona prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2026-01-06 17:30.
[p]Napoli remain on the tails of the two Milan clubs in the Serie A title race and host relegation-threatened Verona on Wednesday hoping to climb to the summit for a short period of time at least. [/p]

[p]Match News and Current Form[/p]

[p]Napoli’s strong start against Lazio on Sunday proved key as they won 2-0. That result was their fourth straight victory – a run which includes lifting the Supercoppa Italiana last month – and their second successive league win to keep themselves well in the hunt to retain the Scudetto after last season’s triumph. Antonio Conte’s men currently sit just one and two points behind AC Milan and Inter Milan respectively and will feel optimistic about potentially leapfrogging both clubs in midweek, as they possess the highest home win percentage in Serie A this term (86%). [/p]

[p]Verona head into this contest having suffered back-to-back losses, and rather worryingly for the Gialloblù, both those defeats came by a 3-0 scoreline, the latter of which was to mid-table Torino at the weekend. Paolo Zanetti’s side therefore remain in the bottom three, albeit with a game in hand on some of their relegation rivals, as the season’s halfway mark approaches, with only Parma and Lecce having scored fewer goals in Serie A this campaign heading into the upcoming matchday than their 13. Equally problematic is their total of three clean sheets in the division in 2025/26, a figure only better than Genoa’s. [/p]

[p]Head-to-Head History[/p]

[p]Napoli have lost just one of the last nine H2Hs (W5, D3) and haven’t been beaten in their last 26 home matches against Verona (W18, D8)![/p]

[p]Hot Stats and Streaks[/p]

[p]Napoli have won their last four matches 2-0 and now have the chance to keep five consecutive clean sheets for the first time since February 2023. [/p]

[p]Nine of Napoli’s last ten Serie A goals have been scored before half-time.[/p]

[p]The side that led at the break in five of Verona’s last six matches went on to win. [/p]

[p]Verona have conceded a pre-round joint-league high four away goals in the opening 15 minutes. [/p]

[p]Key Players to Watch and Missing Players[/p]

[p]After getting Napoli’s second goal against Lazio, Amir Rrahmani has now been on the winning side in ten of his 12 Serie A scoring appearances for the club (D2), with one of the two exceptions being a 1-1 draw with Verona in May 2021. Daniel Mosquera grabbed a brace for Verona against Napoli last season, but he has failed to find the net in his last 23 matches across all competitions. [/p]

[p]Napoli’s Pasquale Mazzocchi is suspended for this fixture after his red card against Lazio, while David Neres may miss out here after going off injured in the same game. Verona do not seem to have any fresh absentees. [/p]

[p]Betting Analysis[/p]

[p]None of Napoli’s last six games have seen both sides score, so we’re expecting a continuation with a Napoli win and a clean sheet here. [/p]
