Netherlands vs Hungary prediction: EUROPE: UEFA Nations League – League A betting tips on match 2024-11-15 19:45.
[p]With top spot in UEFA Nations League (UNL) Group A3 all but assured to go the way of Germany, the Netherlands and Hungary are battling it out for second and the quarter-final place that goes with it. Tied on five points, the winner of this clash will actually secure second spot before the final game, and it’s the Netherlands who enter the game as hot favourites, boosted by a record of nine wins across the last ten H2Hs (D1). [/p]
[p]The last five of those wins saw the Dutch score at least four goals, and although that would hint at another handsome victory here, the sole draw came in the reverse fixture earlier in this UNL campaign. It may take another free-scoring performance to claim the spoils here too, as the Netherlands have conceded twice in each of their two UNL home games this cycle (W1, D1). [/p]
[p]Hungary will hope that if they’re to strike twice they can succeed where Germany and Bosnia failed, but the enormity of their task cannot be understated. While the winner of this clash will advance to the quarter-finals, the loser will be consigned to a bottom-two finish, which puts Hungary’s two-cycle stint in the UNL’s top-flight at risk of coming to an end. [/p]
[p]Extending their three-match unbeaten run in the UNL (W1, D2) with another draw would at least take the fight to the last day, but as they face table-topping Germany, they’ll want to get things wrapped up here with victory. Many would believe hitting the road would make that unlikely, but Hungary are actually good travellers in this competition, winning three of their last four UNL away games (L1).  [/p]
[p]Players to watch: High-flying Netherlands full-back Denzel Dumfries has scored the last goal of the game with his last four international goals. Preferring to strike earlier, Dominik Szoboszlai has opened the scoring on his last three international scoring appearances, including in their last UNL away game.[/p]
[p]Hot stat: Only one of Hungary’s last eight UNL away games saw both teams score.[/p]
