Newcastle Bournemouth prediction 2024-02-17

Newcastle vs Bournemouth prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2024-02-16 15:00.
[p]After a sizable mid-season blip, Newcastle United appear to be rediscovering their mojo. Eddie Howe’s side are now unbeaten in four matches across all competitions (W3, D1) after battling to a 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest last weekend, but the Magpies boss will certainly be keen to take that form back to St James’ Park where they’ve failed to win any of their last three league outings – their joint-longest such run since November 2021.[/p]

[p]Regardless of their results, the Toon are proving to be the division’s great entertainers at present, with their matches averaging a league high 3.75 total goals so far. Only the top-three have outscored them, leaving it clear where their issues lie. Conceding ten goals across their last three home games is a worrying trend for Howe to try and rectify, as are their struggles when falling behind as only Burnley (one) have earned fewer points from losing positions than Newcastle (two) this term.[/p]

[p]Visitors Bournemouth will certainly be keen to take advantage of those frailties, and in doing so they could secure a first seasonal winning double over Newcastle in their history after running out 2-0 victors in the reverse. Andoni Iraola’s South coast outfit have hit a bump in the road of late however, failing to win any of their last five league games (D2, L3), though the threat of relegation still seems a pleasant distance away.[/p]

[p]The Spaniard lamented that his side were “not good in the boxes” in a 3-1 defeat to Fulham last week, but the Cherries still managed to get on the scoresheet at least. That’s something that they’ve been able to do in all-but-one of their 12 league away matches this term – a trend they’ll need to continue if they’re to end a four-game winless streak at St James’ Park (D1, L3). [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Midfield general Bruno Guimarães missed the reverse fixture through suspension, but he comes into this clash in fine form after scoring a match-winning brace against Forest last week. Bournemouth talisman Dominic Solanke has blanked in successive matches for the first time since November, but on that occasion, he ended that drought by scoring both goals in the Cherries’ H2H victory.[/p]

[p]Hot streak: Each of Newcastle’s last six league games have seen both sides get on the scoresheet.[/p]
