Newcastle Chelsea prediction 2025-05-11

Newcastle vs Chelsea prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2025-05-10 11:00.
[p]With the race for the top five heating up, those in the mix will be relieved to see two of the contenders, Newcastle and Chelsea, meet this weekend. These two clashing means at least one side will be dropping points, but Newcastle have every right to believe it won’t be them having won five successive Premier League home games, with the last three coming by a 3+ goal margin. [/p]

[p]They’ve been similarly successful at home in this fixture of late, winning seven of the last 11 H2Hs at St James’ Park (D1, L3), including both under Eddie Howe. The Newcastle boss has endured some modest success against the Blues throughout his managerial career (W7, D2, L11), and incredibly all seven of those wins came against different managers! After beating Chelsea 2-0 here in the EFL Cup earlier this term, Enzo Maresca could now become the first manager he’s ever beaten twice whilst in charge of the Blues. [/p]

[p]Chelsea make the long journey to the north on a high after reaching the Conference League final in midweek. Maresca’s men beat Djurgården 5-1 on aggregate in the semi-final, winning 1-0 at Stamford Bridge in the second leg on Thursday to mark a fifth successive win in all competitions, as Chelsea seem to be hitting form at the perfect time. [/p]

[p]Although winning that competition as expected would land them a spot in the Europa League, the Champions League is the real prize on offer for Chelsea, yet a tricky end to the season could be their downfall. They face top-five rivals Newcastle and Nottingham Forest away from home either side of a clash with Manchester United, but having won 31 Premier League games against Newcastle, only beating Tottenham (37) and West Ham (32) more often in the competition, they could be up to this challenge. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Often drawing close attention from the opposition, Newcastle’s Bruno Guimarães is the only Premier League player this season to win 100 fouls. Chelsea’s Cole Palmer finally broke his goal drought in last weekend’s 3-1 win against Liverpool. Four of his last five away league goals arrived after half-time, while he also scored after the break in the reverse fixture (W 2-1). [/p]

[p]Hot stat: The designated home side scored exactly once in five of Chelsea’s last six games. [/p]
