Nice Brest prediction 2023-10-01

Nice vs Brest prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2023-09-30 13:00.
Very few could have expected that this Ligue 1 game between Nice and Brest would be a top-of-the-table clash in 2023/24, given that both teams finished outside the top eight last season. Although trailing unexpected table-toppers Brest by one point ahead of the round, Nice arguably have the greater momentum after three consecutive victories coming into this encounter, having handed heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain (3-2) and Monaco (1-0) their first defeats of the campaign in the process.

The victory at Monaco last weekend has been largely credited to the incredible performance of goalkeeper Marcin Bulka, who achieved a rare feat by saving two penalties! After the game, manager Francesco Farioli urged caution however, emphasising that his players need to "stay grounded", especially given that Nice haven't secured back-to-back home wins in Ligue 1 since February.

Visitors Brest make this trip to the south of France having won four of their opening six league outings (D1, L1), contributing to the club's best-ever start in terms of points at this stage of the season. Manager Éric Roy hailed his team's achievements as “fantastic” after a 1-0 victory against Lyon last Saturday, where they completely dominated the game with an impressive total of 27 shots!

A trip to Nice will be a key test of the progress made by the Pirates, who have not won any of the eight H2Hs played at the home of the Eaglets since 1991 (D3, L5), the year Brest Armorique were renamed Stade Brestois (D3, L5). Regardless of the outcome, this match promises to be tightly contested, considering that only one of Brest's last ten away games in Ligue 1 has been settled by a margin of more than one goal.

Players to watch: Terem Moffi will once again be a key player, having contributed to five of Nice's eight goals this season (G3, A2). He could be upstaged by Pierre Lees-Melou, who has been the game’s first scorer in three of his previous four goalscoring away matches for Brest.

Hot stat: Since the beginning of last season, Nice have drawn 50% of their Ligue 1 home games in which they started as favourites (W6, D8, L2).
