Nice vs Le Havre prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-05-09 19:00.
[p]Nice have found form again at just the right time as they attempt to rekindle their dreams of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League for only the second time in their history. Despite trailing 1-0, the Eaglets came from behind to beat Strasbourg 3-1 in their most recent outing at the end of April, extending their unbeaten run to four matches (W2, D2) to move within four points of the top-four.[/p]
[p]With just three fixtures remaining however, time is not on Nice’s side, even though they retain a game in hand on fourth-placed Lille – who Francesco Farioli’s side face on the final day of the season! Their first task though is to win against a Le Havre team whom they have beaten just twice in the last 19 meetings (D5, L12).[/p]
[p]The visitors will be desperate to extend that good H2H record, given they are still far from out the woods in the Ligue 1 relegation battle. Luka Elsner’s men put three points between themselves and the drop zone last weekend with a 3-1 victory against Strasbourg, bringing a timely end to a six-match winless run (D2, L4) which threatened their top-flight status.[/p]
[p]There have certainly been encouraging signs of late however, as that victory was preceded by a pulsating 3-3 draw with PSG in late April. That was a rare positive day on the road for Le Havre though, as they’ve failed to win any of their last ten away league matches (D5, L5), while they’ve managed a league-low one victory on their travels in Ligue 1 all season (D9, L6).[/p]
[p]Players to watch: On target against Strasbourg, Nice forward Evann Guessand has now lost just one of the last 18 games in which he has scored (W12, D5). Battling him for the limelight may be Le Havre striker Emmanuel Sabbi, who has struck first or last in seven of his last eight goalscoring appearances.[/p]
[p]Hot stat: Le Havre have conceded first in a joint-high of ten of their 16 away Ligue 1 fixtures, six of which have ended in defeat (W1, D3).[/p]
