Nice vs Twente prediction: EUROPE: Europa League – League phase betting tips on match 2024-11-06 17:45.
[p]Despite a massively underwhelming start to their UEFA Europa League (UEL) campaign (W0, D1, L2), Nice have the opportunity to win their third consecutive competitive match for the first time since last November following crucial recent Ligue 1 victories over Monaco (2-1 home) and Brest (1-0 away). In order to replicate that form on the European stage, Franck Haise’s men must be more alert early on in games, as they’ve conceded in the opening 20 minutes in all three of their UEL encounters so far this season. [/p]
[p]Don’t expect their upcoming meeting with Twente in France to be one-sided one way or the other, as seven of Nice’s last eight matches across all competitions were decided by a one-goal margin at most. The Eaglets are yet to taste defeat at their Allianz Riviera home this term (W2, D3), so they should be feeling pretty confident as they look to maintain their unbeaten record against Dutch clubs when on their own patch (W1, D1). [/p]
[p]Like Nice, Twente are still searching for their first UEL win of the campaign (D2, L1), but they also head into this fixture following a 1-0 triumph at the weekend to make it two clean-sheet victories on the bounce, having last done that in three successive games in February this year. Their record against French clubs is not great, though, having won only three of their nine such meetings (L6), albeit the last of those matches was in the 2008/09 season. [/p]
[p]Twente’s recent European outings have often been closely fought, with eight of their last nine seeing goals scored for both sides on the day. Entertainment may be at a premium here, however, as none of the last six halves of football involving the Tukkers in continental competition have featured more than one goal. [/p]
[p]Players to watch: After failing to register an assist in his first five appearances after his arrival from Caen in the summer, Nice left wing-back Ali Abdi has since set up goals in back-to-back matches coming into this encounter. Up top for Twente, meanwhile, is likely to be Sam Lammers who, after a five-game drought following his equaliser at Old Trafford, has netted in his last two matches, with his last four strikes all arriving in the 55th minute or later. [/p]
[p]Hot stat: Twente did not concede inside the first 20 minutes in any of their last ten games. [/p]
