Norwich Coventry prediction 2024-02-03

Norwich vs Coventry prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2024-02-02 15:00.
Norwich City will be looking to get back on a winning path after recent back-to-back losses disrupted what was a five-game unbeaten run prior (W3, D2). Their last outing saw them exit the FA Cup after losing 5-2 to Premier League leaders Liverpool, while the match before saw their ascension towards the Championship play-off spots stall when going down 1-0 against Leeds, although both those games were away from home and against tough opposition.

The Canaries will therefore be glad to migrate back to Carrow Road where they’ve been formidable of late, treating their fans to a run of six league games without defeat (W4, D2), and keeping a clean sheet on four occasions. David Wagner’s troops will be confident they’re due another positive result, especially with Coventry City being next to pay them a visit, having lost just two of the last 25 home league H2Hs (W11, D12).

The reverse fixture saw Coventry equalise in the 88th minute to earn a 1-1 draw, and more late heroics were needed last time out when an 86th minute Ellis Simms strike rescued a point in a 2-2 draw against Bristol City. That result meant they kept their coveted place of sixth in the table with 44 points, but Coventry will be wary of their hosts who are just three points adrift.

That midweek draw meant Mark Robins’ men also brought up a dozen games unbeaten (W7, D5), so they should be full of confidence when they hit the road as it’s where they’ve done their best work recently. The Sky Blues have actually won their last three away league games, last winning four in a row whilst in the top-two tiers way back in March 2004!

Players to watch: After being rested against Liverpool, Norwich’s Josh Sargent will be raring to go especially since he’s scored in his prior two appearances against Coventry, with both goals coming before half-time. He’ll go toe-to-toe with his national teammate Haji Wright, who’s taken a different approach having netted six of his eight goals this season after half-time.

Hot stat: Nine of Coventry’s last 11 games saw both teams score.
