Norwich Stoke prediction 2023-09-16

Norwich vs Stoke prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2023-09-15 14:00.
Norwich spent the international break in the Championship top-six, but went into the season’s first interruption after seeing their unbeaten start to the season end with a 2-1 defeat at Rotherham. Manager David Wagner called it “a reality check” as his side missed the opportunity to go top of the table, and he’ll now be keen to avoid the Canaries suffering back-to-back league defeats for the third time already in 2023.

Coming up against Stoke presents a quick rebound opportunity as Norwich have won three of their last four H2Hs (D1). Extending that sequence with a win would make it the first time since 2006/07 that Norwich have started their league campaign with three consecutive home victories after wins over Hull (2-1) and Millwall (3-1) earlier this season.

Stoke also went to the break on the back of a loss, with their 2-0 defeat against Preston marking the third time already this campaign that they’ve lost without scoring. Manager Alex Neil stressed the need for patience due to the “huge amount of change” within his playing squad, but he’ll need his charges to gel if they’re to avoid suffering three consecutive league losses for the first time since January.

Travel sickness has plagued the Potters, who’ve lost three consecutive Championship away matches, while they’re winless in five league road trips (D2, L3) overall – a sequence that’s seen them score just one goal! A trip to East Anglia doesn’t bode well if Stoke are to correct that, as they’ve lost each of their last two league H2Hs at Carrow Road.

Players to watch: With five goals and an assist in his last six games, including three injury time goals, Jonathan Rowe has been Norwich’s main man this season. Stoke midfielder Josh Laurent is just as likely to be in the limelight, as he’s been all-action for the Potters this term (G2, A1, YC2).

Hot stat: Only Sunderland and Southampton average more corners won per match than Stoke (7.20) after five rounds this campaign.
