Omonia vs Pafos prediction: EUROPE: Conference League – Play Offs betting tips on match 2025-02-12 20:00.
[p]All three clubs from Cyprus made it beyond the main draw of the UEFA Conference League for the first time in its brief history, and the draw for the knockout round play-offs has created a historic tie. Two Cypriot teams will meet in the knockout stages of a UEFA competition for the first time when regular opponents Omonia and Pafos face off for the 12th time since the start of 2023! [/p]
[p]It’s a matchup in which home advantage has been practically non-existent, with the home team of the day winning just two of those 11 H2Hs across all competitions (D4, L5). Omonia, who had never previously made it beyond the main draw of any UEFA competition, won two of their three home league phase games (L1), and have since collected an impressive five clean sheets from six domestic home fixtures (W4, D1, L1). [/p]
[p]In addition to finishing three points ahead of Omonia in the league phase, Pafos remain top of the Cypriot league – ten points clear of their hosts – and are therefore well on the way to clinching their first league title after winning an impressive eight of ten domestic matches (L2) since completing their league phase with a 2-2 draw at Lugano. [/p]
[p]Only one of their three league phase victories came away from home, and it was hardly a significant scalp as they beat bottom-of-the-table Petrocub 4-1, but scoring in all three away matches at least suggests they should provide a stern test for Omonia’s tight defence. Three successive away wins domestically – including at fellow Conference League competitors APOEL as similarly narrow outsiders – also indicates they’re in with a strong chance of progression here.[/p]
[p]Players to watch: No Omonia player has scored more than Willy Semedo’s five Conference League goals this term, and he comes into this clash in form having netted in two of his last three domestic matches. Pafos midfielder Vlad Dragomir was on the scoresheet not just at the weekend, but also on his last two visits to Omonia. [/p]
[p]Hot stat: Eight of the 11 H2Hs since 2023 produced under 2.5 total goals. [/p]
