Osasuna Atl. Madrid prediction 2023-09-28

Osasuna vs Atl. Madrid prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2023-09-27 19:30.
A 0-0 draw at home to Sevilla at the weekend rubber-stamped Osasuna’s mediocre start to the 2023/24 season which has seen them now go winless in their last four competitive outings (D2, L2), with one of those results also ending their UEFA Europa League Conference participation in the qualification play-off round. Their most recent stalemate at least brought some positivity in the form of a clean sheet, an improved defensive showing that followed the conceding of exactly two goals in five of their seven prior matches.

What remains particularly concerning for Osasuna and manager Jagoba Arrasate is his side’s poor home form. To start this season, they failed to win any of their four competitive outings at Estadio El Sadar (D1, L3), whilst this latest visit of Atlético Madrid may not boost their morale as they’ve lost their last five home H2Hs by a combined scoreline of 15-1!

What a weekend it proved to be for Diego Simeone’s side who defeated fierce rivals Real 3-1 in the Madrid derby, which made it 11 wins on home soil in succession. That victory also further solidified Atlético’s overall start to their new LL campaign (W3, D1, L1) as they chase UEFA Champions League qualification for a 12th straight season.

The visitors away form remains a sizeable concern, particularly with the erratic nature of their results on the road across all competitions so far this season (W1, D2, L1). That four-game period featured a 7-0 win (Vallecano), a 3-0 loss (Valencia) and Lazio’s goalkeeper scoring a 90th minute equaliser. It could therefore make improving their tally of just one win across their last seven competitive away outings difficult in Pamplona (W1, D4, L2).

Players to watch: Osasuna’s Chimy Ávila has two goals this campaign, whilst three of his last four overall have come between the 70th and 80th minute. Álvaro Morata could prove Atlético's lucky charm again here as he has struck five LL goals this season, whilst all eight of his prior H2Hs have seen his side win (G2, A1)!

Hot stat: All but one of Atlético’s last nine LL games produced more than 2.5 total goals.
