Osasuna Celta Vigo prediction 2024-09-01

Osasuna vs Celta Vigo prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2024-08-31 15:00.
[p]A second half to forget saw Osasuna fall to a disappointing 4-0 defeat against Girona on Thursday for their first defeat of this La Liga campaign (W1, D1). Coach Vicente Moreno wasn’t happy with the effort of his side during their first trip of this league season and apologised to the fans for the result but vowed to make a comeback, claiming that “there’s no better medicine than winning the next match.”[/p]

[p]With each of their four points this campaign coming at home, returning to more familiar surroundings will be welcomed as they look to beat high-flying Celta Vigo, a team they failed to defeat in their last three league H2Hs (D2, L1) at El Sadar. All three of those matches saw Osasuna fail to score, but having netted exactly one goal in each of their last four home league games (W1, D3), their H2H goal drought could at least end here.[/p]

[p]Celta arrive here after suffering a 4-3 defeat at Villarreal on Monday which ended their two-game winning start to this top-flight season. It was a result decided by a goal in the tenth minute of injury-time, but even so, coach Claudio Giráldez was happy with the effort, hinting that they have to go back with their “heads held high” as they start this round in the top three.[/p]

[p]The defeat at Villarreal is part of a larger problem though, as Celta have lost four of their last five away league games (W1). Conceding late has become an unwanted habit too during that time, as the visitors have let in at least one goal beyond the 80th minute which ultimately ended up as the match winner on three occasions.[/p]

[p]Key battle: Osasuna goalkeeper Sergio Herrera had a torrid time against Girona, but with a record of two clean sheets in his last three home league H2Hs, this could be a shot at instant redemption. His well-laid plans may be torpedoed by Borja Iglesias, who scored Celta’s opening goal in their last match and has netted three times in his last five personal top-flight H2Hs, each being the opening goal in a win ‘to nil’.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Nine of Celta’s last 11 league games, including all three this season, have seen both teams score goals.[/p]
