Paris SG vs Monaco prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2022-08-27 18:45.
We may only be three gameweeks into this new Ligue 1 season, however it’s already looking increasingly likely that Paris Saint-Germain are going to romp to a ninth title in 11 seasons. Last week’s trip to Lille was billed as their first real test, yet Christophe Galtier’s men hammered their opponents 7-1, meaning PSG have now scored 17 goals across their opening three Ligue 1 fixtures (W3) – the second-highest total at this stage in the competition's history.

PSG discovered this week that they’ll take on Juventus, Benfica and Maccabi Haifa in this season’s UEFA Champions League group stage. Galtier will have most likely seen that as a fairly favourable draw and will now look to cap off a good week by extending their unbeaten home Ligue 1 record to a standout 24 matches (W20, D3). There’s potential for PSG to do so in style too if they are able to make it a sixth successive league game in which they scored at least four goals.

Considering Monaco conceded four at home to Lens last week, you can’t rule that out, though manager Philippe Clement insisted the 4-1 scoreline “didn’t reflect the match”, which in some ways is true, with his side being reduced to ten men in the second half. However, having already bowed out of the Champions League qualifiers this month, and with just one competitive win from five opening matches (D2, L2), it’s fair to say pressure is beginning to mount on Clement.

The form of PSG makes this a daunting trip on paper, but Monaco have historically enjoyed a fair amount of success against the side from the French capital. Monaco have won three of the last four Ligue 1 H2Hs and actually boast more Ligue 1 wins against PSG than any other side (44).

Players to watch: PSG’s Kylian Mbappé, who’s scored four goals across his last two Ligue 1 matches, has averaged one goal per game across his nine league appearances against his former club. Monaco opponent Wissam Ben Yedder enjoys this fixture too, boasting seven career goals against PSG.

Hot streak: In this game Monaco are attempting to go seven Ligue 1 away games undefeated for the first time since April 2018 (W5, D1).
