Preston QPR prediction 2023-12-01

Preston vs QPR prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2023-11-30 20:00.
The humiliation of squandering a 1-0 lead in stoppage time against Cardiff last weekend only got worse in midweek for Preston, who went down 4-0 to fellow promotion chasers Middlesbrough. The result left North End boss Ryan Lowe “angry” after he lambasted a first-half performance he dubbed as “not acceptable” as his side fell to their fourth defeat from five games on the road.

Lowe will be glad of a return to Deepdale, where Preston have lost just twice in the league this season (W5, D2, L2). That record paints a pretty picture overall, but doesn’t account for the fact the Lilywhites have won just one of their last five home league games (D2, L2). That’s certainly not the form of promotion chasers, and with just one victory from their last four home H2Hs against QPR (D1, L2), Preston will have to lean on their nine-match unbeaten run in Friday-held Championship games (W6, D3) to avoid their H2H misery extending.

A repeat of the 1-0 victory QPR attained here last season would be timely for the R’s, who know following up their 4-2 win against Stoke in midweek would boost their survival bid. Coming into this weekend round in the relegation zone, Tuesday’s victory was huge for new boss Martí Cifuentes given it was his first win in the post, but he’d be wise not to get carried away just yet as QPR haven’t won on the road since early September.

Six games have elapsed since (D2, L4), and with QPR registering scoring blanks in four of those, it’s clear to see where their biggest issue lies. That’s perhaps in part due to their inability to start quickly, with Rangers yet to register an away league goal before the half-hour mark this season – one of five Championship teams to suffer such an ignominy.

Players to watch: There’s no place like home for Preston’s Milutin Osmajić, who has scored in each of their last three outings at Deepdale, each time after the break. Despite netting a brace in midweek, QPR would be wise not to overly rely on Lyndon Dykes, who has scored just one away goal for his club since October 2021!

Hot stat: QPR are winless in their last 14 Friday-held Championship away games (D2, L12), last winning one in February 2011!
