Preston Swansea prediction 2022-11-01

Preston vs Swansea prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2022-10-31 19:45.
After their first six Championship games this term produced just one goal, Preston North End’s campaign has subsequently delivered much more entertainment, and their late 2-1 win over Middlesbrough on Saturday kept them close to the play-off places (W6, D7, L5). But another goal-starved encounter could be on the cards as three of their last four H2Hs with Swansea City ended 1-0 either way (W2, L2)!

Preston have fared well against their Welsh counterparts here, losing just one of the last six home H2Hs (W3, D2) and are looking to add to their two home league wins this term (D4, L3). That would please their fans, who manager Ryan Lowe said were “fantastic” for being patient and getting behind them as they came back to beat Middlesbrough.

If Preston are to realise their play-off ambitions, this could be a good barometer as Swansea occupy sixth position after one defeat in eight Championship games (W6, D1) following Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Bristol City. Manager Russell Martin’s raft of substitutions helped them come back to claim a point and left him “really pleased with the character shown by the players”.

He added that a few of them suffered from over-celebrating beating Cardiff City 2-0 the game before but accepted it as part of his young squad’s learning process. He’ll expect their full attention on this fixture though, particularly as their only loss in five league away games came at nearby Burnley (W2, D2) so another trip up the M6 might bring back a few bad memories.

Players to watch: Lowe said that Preston’s Emil Riis can either “hit them down the M6 or in the top bin” as he did against Middlesbrough to notch his fifth league goal of the season, three of them before the 40th minute. Swansea’s Oliver Ntcham was also on target from distance at the weekend but is yet to strike before half-time this term.

Hot stat: Four of the last five H2Hs saw under eight corners awarded.
