PSG Lille prediction 2024-02-10

PSG vs Lille prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-02-09 20:00.
Both Paris Saint-Germain and Lille were in Coupe de France action on Wednesday night, but enjoyed different fortunes. The home side ran out 3-1 winners against Brest, extending their impressive record to 15 games without a loss in all competitions (W11, D4). They bagged 2+ goals in all but three of those games, which is an ominous sign for the visitors given that the Parisians have netted 4+ goals in three of the last four H2Hs between these two.

Those fixtures make up part of a five-game H2H unbeaten run (W4, D1), and Luis Enrique’s men are heavily fancied to add to that streak here. Furthermore, with closest rivals Nice taking on fellow European hopefuls Monaco in this round, there’s every chance PSG could extend their sizable eight-point lead at the top of the Ligue 1 table.

Lille start the round in fourth and are still right in the mix for those coveted Champions League places, but they did go down 2-1 at Lyon in midweek, ending their undefeated start to 2024 (W4, D1). Those were the first goals they’d conceded in this calendar year however, and with the second-best defensive Ligue 1 record coming into the round (GA: 14), the visitors might feel they can nullify the champions’ in-form attack.

What would really give Lille a boost in their ambitions to return to Europe’s premier competition for the first time since 2021 would be improving on their patchy away form. Wednesday’s loss meant Paulo Fonseca’s men have won only four of their 16 away games across all competitions this season (D9, L3), yet it’s hard to envisage that record improving here given nine of their last ten competitive visits to Parc des Princes ended in defeat (W1).

Players to watch: PSG’s Kylian Mbappé converted from the spot in December’s H2H, giving him one of his 30 goals from 29 appearances this season. Lille’s Jonathan David also scored in that game, but it’s worth noting none of his last eight goals arrived away from home!

Hot stat: PSG (12) and Lille (11) rank first and second for the most combined Ligue 1 goals scored in the 15 minutes before half-time.
