PSG Rennes prediction 2024-04-03

PSG vs Rennes prediction: FRANCE: Coupe de France betting tips on match 2024-04-02 19:10.
[p]The Coupe de France has reached the semi-final stage, and unsurprisingly, runaway Ligue 1 leaders PSG find themselves in the final four. Even with ten men, the Parisians’ warm-up for this clash went according to plan as they ran out 2-0 winners against Marseille at the weekend, although their fortunes in this competition haven’t been as favourable of late, with this their first semi-final appearance since 2020/21.[/p]

[p]Even so, PSG have historically been formidable in the Coupe de France, winning this competition 14 times – more than any other side. Their 19 final appearances is also a joint-record, but becoming the first team to hit 20 may not be straightforward as PSG are winless in their last two home H2Hs against Rennes (D1, L1), which includes a controversial 1-1 draw here as recently as the end of February. [/p]

[p]Similarly to their hosts, Rennes weekend outing also ended 2-0, only they were on the receiving end, meaning they’ve now won just one of their last four games (D1, L2). Their Coupe de France journey to this stage has been reasonably straightforward, with three of their four ties coming against lower league opposition, including their 3-1 quarter-final victory over fourth-tier Le Puy Foot 43 Auvergne. [/p]

[p]Interestingly, this is the fourth away draw out of five Rennes have had in this competition this term, but you’d have to go back to January 2020 for the last time they knocked a top-flight side out of the Coupe de France away from home. Even so, the incentive of a first Coupe de France final appearance since 2018/19 should be enough to spur them on to what the bookmakers think will be an unlikely victory. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: PSG’s Gonçalo Ramos has netted beyond the hour mark in his last two appearances for either club or country, and it was his 97th minute penalty that controversially earned his side a point in February’s H2H. Rennes’ Benjamin Bourigeaud could also make a late impact as two of his three Coupe de France goals this season were the game’s last and arrived after the 80th minute. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: PSG have led at half-time in all four Coupe de France H2Hs. [/p]
