QPR vs Blackburn prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2023-02-24 15:00.
No side in the Championship are currently on a longer winless run than QPR (D5, L5), so theyâve turned to club legend Gareth Ainsworth to try and guide them away from the drop zone. The new manager has a tough job on his hands, as the Hoopsâ miserable form – their worst at this level since 2006 – has now taken them from play-off contention to just eight points clear of the bottom three ahead of this round.
After rejoining the club, Ainsworth stated that he âwants to get Loftus Road rocking againâ, but home fans have had very little to cheer this term with QPR failing to secure a league victory on home soil since October (D2, L6). In fact only three teams have won fewer points on their own turf than QPRâs tally of 19, while just two sides have conceded more than their 23 home goals!
Despite their lofty league position, Blackburn Rovers remain one of the divisionâs poorest sides on the road, winning just 18 of their 52 points away from Ewood Park. Thatâs not held Rovers back from sitting inside the top-four though, while victory over Lancashire rivals Blackpool last time out âmade our fans happyâ according to boss Jon Dahl Tomasson.
While that may be the case, hitting the back of the net remains Blackburnâs major problem of late, with just one of their last 16 Championship games seeing them score more than once (W6, D4, L6). That came in a 2-0 win at Norwich back in December, but none of their following five away games in the league have ended in victory (D3, L2), a record thatâs unlikely to inspire confidence among Rovers fans whoâve seen their side lose each of the last three visits to Loftus Road.
Players to watch: January signing Jamal Lowe has directly contributed to three goals since arriving at QPR (G2, A1), but heâs never been on the scoresheet in nine H2H meetings with Blackburn. With Bradley Dack and Ben Brereton DĂaz injury doubts, Roversâ main threat may be Sam Gallagher, who has won six personal H2Hs against QPR (D1, L4) – the second-most of any opponent in his career.
Hot stat: The last four H2Hs all ended 1-0, with two wins apiece.
