QPR Blackburn prediction 2023-10-07

QPR vs Blackburn prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2023-10-06 14:00.
Queens Park Rangers’ torrid season and miserable year as a whole continues to decline, with their latest disappointment coming in a 1-0 defeat at Leeds in midweek Championship action. The R’s saw goalkeeper Asmir Begović sent off in that reverse, leading to Scottish international striker Lyndon Dykes taking the gloves in what was their sixth defeat in ten league matches (W2, D2), as Gareth Ainsowrth’s men dropped into the relegation zone.

Home advantage hasn’t been helping QPR of late either, as in 2023 alone, they’ve lost ten league matches at Loftus Road (W1, D4) – only twice before have they lost more home league games in a single calendar year. Their biggest problem is putting the ball in the back of the net, as across the last 20 matches they’ve hosted in all competitions (W1, D4, L15), they’ve not scored more than a single goal in any of them.

Upcoming opponents Blackburn Rovers suffered the same fate as their hosts last time out, losing 1-0 to Coventry – a fourth defeat in five games for Jon Dahl Tomasson’s men (W1). As a result, Rovers sit just two points and two places above QPR, but with that Coventry game being just the second time in their last 15 matches they’ve failed to score, they arguably have a better platform to better their situation.

Tomasson might be targeting this match to do just that, as a victory would also see Blackburn win four consecutive league games against QPR for the first time since January 1996. That’ll snap an awful three-game losing streak on their travels too, with March 2021 being the last time they suffered defeat in four consecutive road games, a streak that ironically began with a 1-0 loss at QPR.

Players to watch: QPR will be looking to Dykes to up his output, since 12 of his last 13 goals have come at home. As for Blackburn, they’ll be hoping Tyrhys Dolan can open his account for the season, as nine of his 11 goalscoring outings for the club in the Championship have ended in victory (D1, L1).

Hot streak: Blackburn are winless in their last eight away league games when starting as the betting favourite (D2, L6).
