QPR Bristol City prediction 2023-11-11

QPR vs Bristol City prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2023-11-10 15:00.
Martí Cifuentes’ opening game at the helm of a struggling Queens Park Rangers looked to be getting off to a perfect start when they took a 50th minute lead away to Rotherham in his first match, only to ultimately slip to a 1-1 draw. A share of the spoils is an improvement on the six-game losing streak he inherited, but it’ll be hard to convince the Loftus Road faithful of his credentials until he breaks QPR’s current ten-game winless streak (D3, L7).

That’ll be top priority for the new Hoops boss, who sees his side six points adrift of safety and only off the foot of the table by virtue of Sheffield Wednesday’s horrific start. Avoiding defeat will be the bare minimum requirement here, as failing to do so would register QPR’s 13th home league loss of the year, setting a new unwanted club record in the process.

Looking to inflict more damage on the home side are Bristol City, something they’ve made a habit of doing since their last five Championship visits to Loftus Road have ended in victory. They too have a new manager in the dugout, with former Oxford boss Liam Manning putting pen to paper on a four-year deal after Nigel Pearson’s sacking and taking charge for the first time here.

Manning adopts a team fresh off an unconvincing 1-0 win over basement club Sheffield Wednesday, who were reduced to ten-men just after the half-hour mark. That result did at least end a two-game losing streak and lift the Robins into the top-half of the table, where a good start under new management would most likely see them creep up on the coveted play-off spots, something that has always been the ultimate goal for the club.

Players to watch: Ilias Chair finally opened his account for the season when scoring against Rotherham, the tenth time in his last 11 goalscoring outings he’s netted QPR’s opener. It was Bristol’s Mark Sykes who got the opening goal when these teams met last at Loftus Road, contributing to four of his last six goals coming on the road.

Hot stat: Only one of Bristol’s last 13 away matches has ended in a draw (W5, L7).
