QPR Huddersfield prediction 2022-11-08

QPR vs Huddersfield prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2022-11-07 19:45.
Two of the four Championship clubs that failed to score during the first seven days of November will come together with the same aim – to steady themselves ahead of the one-month World Cup break – but in vastly different circumstances. Having witnessed QPR collapse out of play-off contention late last season despite a strong start under his predecessor, boss Michael Beale will be all too aware of the consequences of not getting their affairs in order quickly.

Beale tried to mask the shame of last weekend’s 0-1 home loss to West Bromwich Albion by declaring his conquerors won’t be relegation contenders for much longer. The pressure will continue to build though if the club cannot secure just their second win from the six most recent H2Hs (W1, D2, L2), particularly with QPR yet to host any of the teams placed 11th or higher at the end of the weekend.

Huddersfield face being relegated from England’s second division for the first time in more than two decades unless new manager Mark Fotheringham can make the most of their game in hand to build upon their 15-point haul at the foot of the table. To illustrate how desperate Huddersfield’s situation is becoming, the six relegated Championship clubs of the previous two seasons all had 16 points or fewer after 18 matches (when including Derby’s points deduction).

Whilst Fotheringham can boast twice as many Championship points per game as former boss Danny Schofield (0.89 on average compared to 0.44) after nine games each, Fotheringham is yet to inspire the Terriers to win away from home (D2, L3). Across the whole Championship season, they’re the only club in the division yet to lead at half-time in an away fixture (HT: D2, L6), which could offer QPR a valuable opportunity to get off to a bright start.

Key battle: As the only player to score in both H2Hs last Championship season, QPR midfielder Luke Amos could be inspired by the sight of his opposition. Things could be a lot worse for Huddersfield were it not for goalkeeper Lee Nicholls, who has faced the equal second-most shots on target (81) after the weekend and has saved two of the three penalty kicks aimed his way.

Hot stat: All but two of QPR’s 14 Championship home goals this season have been scored prior to half-time.
