QPR Hull prediction 2023-12-09

QPR vs Hull prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2023-12-08 15:00.
QPR gave their Championship survival bid a major boost by securing back-to-back wins following a 2-0 victory over Preston North End last Friday. With only one loss in the five games (W2, D2) since new head coach MartĂ Cifuentes took charge, Rangers are now within four points of safety, and their chances of cutting that gap further could be enhanced with a third league win on the bounce for the first time since October 2022.

The home faithful will still be buzzing from a 4-2 triumph over Stoke City in their last league encounter at Loftus Road, a victory which ended a club-record 12-game winless run in Championship home matches. Another three points here would be doubly sweet as they aim for consecutive home victories over Hull City for the first time since 2007, having won the corresponding fixture 3-1 last season.

Hull are coming off a 2-1 defeat to Watford after an extraordinary 40-yard lob deprived them of a draw. Boss Liam Rosenior called it “painful to lose”, but his side are still well in the hunt for a top-six spot and haven’t been defeated in successive league outings since he was appointed in November last year. And having won the last H2H 3-0 in January, Hull now have the chance to earn back-to-back wins over QPR for the first time since 2018.

However, the Tigers haven’t roared on the road in recent games. A solitary victory across their last five away league matches (D2, L2) shows there is clear room for improvement, although netting seven goals in the last four clashes in that sequence suggests they are at least expected to pose a threat in attack.

Key battle: Chris Willock popped up after the 85th minute to score the last goal of the match in QPR’s last two games and also netted their closing strike in a 3-1 H2H win last term. Also on target in his side’s last two outings, Hull’s Scott Twine saw both his goals arrive in the first-half.

Hot stat: Seven of Hull’s nine league matches on their travels this season have seen the opener arrive within the first 20 minutes.
