QPR Leicester prediction 2023-10-28

QPR vs Leicester prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2023-10-27 14:00.
The tone for Queens Park Rangers’ midweek 2-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion was set when their team bus arrived late, and they left having failed to register a shot on goal en route to their fifth successive Championship defeat. Amid growing frustration in the stands, Gareth Ainsworth’s side start the round in the bottom three after their worst start to a league campaign (W2, D2, L9) since 2012/13 when they went on to be relegated from the Premier League (PL).

Ainsworth still believes his players won’t fall to such fate this season, insisting they’re “fighters” despite the midweek disappointment, which also saw them pick up their third red card of the campaign. Discipline must improve if they’re to move up the standings, particularly as they prepare to take on league leaders Leicester City for the first time since 2015, having won just one of their last 20 home Championship fixtures (D4, L15)!

There have been no such problems for Leicester, who start the round comfortably clear at the top as they push for an immediate return to the PL (W12, L1) after beating Sunderland 1-0 on Tuesday night. No side has ever reached 36 Championship points quicker than the Foxes, but they had to work hard to get there, with manager Enzo Maresca admitting it was a “difficult game” against a “very aggressive team”.

The Foxes are also breaking records on the road as no side in the second tier had ever won their first six league away games of the season before they beat Swansea 3-1 last weekend. In that game, Leicester had to show a more determined side to their game as they fought back from conceding first for the first time on the road this term.

Key battle: It says much for QPR’s current predicament that left-back Kenneth Paal is their leading scorer this term, and two of his three goals arrived after the hour-mark. He’s scored two more goals than the man he could be marking here, Leicester forward Issahaku Fatawu, who netted just after the 60th minute during their win at Swansea.

Hot stat: Leicester scored after the 85th minute in each of their last three league away games.
