QPR Millwall prediction 2024-01-20

QPR vs Millwall prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2024-01-19 15:00.
London derbies don’t come much more important than this for Queens Park Rangers, who face off with capital rivals Millwall in desperate need of a change in fortunes. Since losing just one of their first seven matches under Martí Cifuentes’ stewardship (W3, D3), the R’s have emerged winless from their next eight (D2, L6), leaving them five points adrift of safety and one place lower in the Championship table than when the Spaniard took over!

The time has to be now for a resurgence, as QPR gear up for a pair of home fixtures against bottom-half opposition. The Loftus Road faithful are unlikely to be confident however, as they’ve seen their side accumulate just nine points from their 13 home league games (W2, D3, L8), comfortably the lowest such total in the division.

A festive resurgence that saw Millwall go five matches unbeaten over the Christmas and New Year period has come unstuck of late, losing back-to-back matches in all competitions, conceding exactly three times in each. Both of those came at home, so the Lions will be pleased to return to the road where they’ve earned more than half of their seasonal points total, while only promotion-chasing Ipswich have conceded fewer goals on their Championship travels.

Joe Edwards’ men have avoided defeat and kept clean sheets in their two most recent away assignments (W1, D1), and are bound to be confident of adding to that trend having won the reverse fixture 2-0 on Boxing Day. This is also a H2H that Millwall have been dominant in of late, as another victory here would make it four wins from the last five meetings!

Players to watch: Although QPR have lost their last three at home, striker Lyndon Dykes has found the net in both of the last two. Millwall striker Tom Bradshaw missed last weekend’s defeat to Middlesbrough, but he is expected to return on Saturday and will be targeting another goal against QPR after opening the scoring in December’s reverse.

Hot streak: QPR have conceded first in their last three home league games.
