QPR Plymouth prediction 2023-12-13

QPR vs Plymouth prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2023-12-12 19:45.
Following victory over Hull on Saturday, new QPR boss Martí Cifuentes has now led his side to three successive wins, the first time the Hoops have achieved that since October 2022. The Spaniard has more than doubled their points tally since arriving at the end of October, losing just one of his six in charge so far (W3, D2), though the West Londoners remain in the bottom three, hence the boss’ advice to “stay humble and keep working hard.”

Despite two of those three wins coming at Loftus Road, the R’s still have the joint-worst home record in the Championship, accruing just eight points altogether from their nine league games to date (W2, D2, L5). They have the chance to further improve upon that against Plymouth, but as the pair square off in the capital for the first time since 2010, it’s worth noting that the Hoops have won just one of their last five home H2Hs (D3, L1).

It’s perhaps a timely visit then as far as Argyle are concerned given they’re still without a win on the road this term, with their tally of three points from ten away league games this season the second-worst record in the division. A seventh away defeat was inflicted on them at leaders Leicester on Saturday, as they went down 4-0 in the East Midlands.

Plymouth coach Steven Schumacher praised his player’s efforts at the King Power despite that scoreline, though he’ll be acutely aware that his side's efforts aren't directly rewarded with points. The Pilgrims are certainly getting desperate for points too, as they sit just three better off than QPR in the third and final relegation spot.

Players to watch: Chris Willock has scored in each of QPR’s last three games, twice netting the last goal of the game. Ryan Hardie has had a hand in nine of Plymouth’s 31 league goals so far this season (G6, A3), and grabbed an assist the last time these two squared off – a 3-2 Argyle win in the Carabao Cup back in 2020.

Hot stat: There’s been a red card in four of QPR’s nine league home games this season.
