Rayo Vallecano Cadiz CF prediction 2024-03-02

Rayo Vallecano vs Cadiz CF prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2024-03-01 15:15.
Two struggling sides at the very bottom of the form table in La Liga will see each other as a prime opportunity to secure a rare win, when free-falling Rayo Vallecano host relegation-threatened CĂĄdiz. Prior to the weekend, no other teams have performed worse in the Spanish top-flight than these two outfits over the last ten games, with both teams securing just five points in that time (tied with AlmerĂa).

Rayo’s record over those ten games reads W1, D2, L7, but the hope will be that they’re over the worst of it now since their last two matches were against the league’s top-two sides, a true baptism of fire for new manager Iñigo PĂ©rez. The Red Sashes were handsomely beaten 3-0 away to Girona last time out, and despite an encouraging 1-1 at home to nearby rivals Real Madrid the game before, it was a tenth consecutive winless game on home soil (D6, L4) which will have the Campo de FĂștbol de Vallecas faithful worried.

The hosting of Cádiz will serve as a reminder that things can always be worse though, with the visitors’ ten game winless streak forming the tail-end of a 22-game barren run in La Liga (D11, L11), their longest ever streak without victory in the competition. Their last outing proved the Yellow Submarine aren’t prepared to just surrender and sink though, as they fought from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Celta Vigo and claim a valuable point.

That’ll give their travelling contingent confidence that they’re not in for yet another fruitless endeavour on their travels, having gone scoreless in their last four road trips. Manager Mauricio Pellegrino will hope this is the game to snap that unfortunate run, and his current personal undefeated streak against Rayo Vallecano (W3, D1) offers hope that can get something from this game.

Players to watch: Álvaro García will attempt to once again haunt his former employers, having scored against them the last two times Rayo have hosted Cådiz. In response, the visitors may look to go aerial to top-scorer Chris Ramos, who has scored three of his last four goals by way of a header on the road.

Hot stat: CĂĄdiz have only lost two of the last ten H2Hs (W3, D5), with three of the last four witnessing them keep a clean sheet.
