RB Leipzig Dortmund prediction 2024-04-27

RB Leipzig vs Dortmund prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2024-04-26 13:30.
[p]With the Bundesliga looking extremely likely to grab a fifth spot in next season’s Champions League thanks to their side’s European exploits this season, this match between fourth-placed RB Leipzig and fifth-placed Borussia Dortmund potentially carries less consequence than usual. That said, with just two points separating the two sides before this weekend’s action, both will be desperate to claim the all-important win to remove any doubt and seal a top-four finish.[/p]

[p]An 85th-minute winner handed Leipzig a valuable 2-1 victory away to Heidenheim last time out, extending their unbeaten run to seven consecutive league outings (W6, D1). It’s been an impressive few months for Marco Rose’s side thanks to that run, and their home form in particular has been fantastic since the start of February, keeping five clean sheets in succession at Red Bull Arena (W4, D1), a tally they’ve never bettered in their Bundesliga era.  [/p]

[p]As Leipzig have kept successive home clean sheets in competitive H2Hs against Dortmund, a piece of club history could be made here then, even if the visitors arrive with confidence after producing a special comeback against Atlético Madrid to reach the Champions League semi-finals. A 1-1 draw with champions Leverkusen over the weekend also extended their mini-unbeaten run to three outings (W2, D1), though conceding a 97th-minute equaliser in that game once again highlighted their defensive vulnerabilities. [/p]

[p]With no clean sheets across their last five, that’s an area that Leipzig will look to fully exploit, though Dortmund have favoured playing on the road recently. That’s because they’ve won each of their last four away league matches, scoring exactly two goals in each, and will go in search of making that five such matches won in succession for the first time since June 2020!  [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Leipzig’s Loïs Openda will be looking to further add to his tally of 23 Bundesliga strikes during his debut season in the competition, with six of his last eight coming after half-time. As for Dortmund, they could look to Niclas Füllkrug for inspiration here as he scored last weekend, whilst he’s also netted five goals in nine personal H2Hs. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Just six of Leipzig’s 15 home Bundesliga matches this season have witnessed both sides score – the joint-fewest in the competition. [/p]
