RB Leipzig Freiburg prediction 2024-10-26

RB Leipzig vs Freiburg prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2024-10-25 13:30.
[p]In what is arguably the standout fixture of the weekend, two of the top-three sides clash in a game that will provisionally put the winner to the top of the Bundesliga. That’s because second-placed RB Leipzig have matched Bayern every step of the way to achieve a club record 17 points at this stage (W5, D2), with a club record equalling five straight Bundesliga clean sheets helping them on their way.[/p]

[p]Another solid performance here will no doubt be the expectation for the side with the most home league clean sheets since the start of last season (11). Despite their defensive dominance, Leipzig proved they weren’t infallible here when losing 1-0 to Liverpool here in the Champions League in midweek, whilst they also failed to keep a clean sheet in both league H2Hs last season (W2). [/p]

[p]Freiburg sit two points behind their hosts after what has been a stunning start to the job for Julian Schuster, who has done his legendary predecessor Christian Streich proud by leading the club to their joint-best start in the top-flight. The last time Freiburg had 15 points at this stage was in 2021/22 when they went on to achieve a European finish, a campaign which featured a pair of tense 1-1 Bundesliga draws against Leipzig. [/p]

[p]Much like their hosts at home, Freiburg have proven their solidity by keeping a joint league-high eight travelling clean sheets since the start of last season. That run includes wins ‘to nil’ in each of their last two away league outings, leaving them on the cusp of putting a run of three competitive away wins without reply together for the first time since 2006/07.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Leipzig’s Xavi Simons opened the scoring against Mainz last weekend, just as he did in seven of his last nine goal scoring club appearances. As for Freiburg, Vincenzo Grifo has contributed to six goals across his last five league games (G3, A3), a return which is identical to his goal contributions against Leipzig after 16 league H2Hs. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Leipzig haven’t conceded in any of their last four league games directly following a Champions League game (W3, D1). [/p]
