Real Madrid Getafe prediction 2023-09-02

Real Madrid vs Getafe prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2023-09-01 14:15.
Real Madrid boast a perfect La Liga (LL) record of three away wins following a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Celta Vigo, but it came at the cost of VinĂcius JĂșnior suffering a hamstring injury that could rule him out until early October. He joins long-term injury absentees Thibaut Courtois and Éder MilitĂŁo, while manager Carlo Ancelotti was also unhappy about Real missing a penalty that he wanted Luka Modrić to take instead of Rodrygo.

With the Italian needing to reshuffle his starting line-up and reinforce his set piece instructions, whoever lines up against Getafe will be trying to help Los Blancos grab a sixth consecutive home H2H win ‘to nil’. Indeed, the early table-toppers haven’t lost to their neighbours at home since February 2008 (W14) and overall are unbeaten at the BernabĂ©u in LL since late April (W4, D1).

It’s been a mixed start to the season for the visitors (W1, D1, L1), who got off the mark against AlavĂ©s with a 1-0 win on Monday. There was no confusion in their ranks when a late penalty was awarded as former Madridista Borja Mayoral converted in the 84th minute, and as all three of their LL fixtures this term saw at least one side fail to score, whoever nets first here could be in the driving seat.

That poor H2H record in the capital is only slightly bettered by their recent league away form against all opponents (W1, D4, L9), while the Azulones have alarmingly failed to score in four of the last five of those (W1, D1, L3). Manager JosĂ© BordalĂĄs is therefore well aware of the stiff challenge awaiting, stating after the win over AlavĂ©s that this game is “not going to be easy, but we're going to prepare for the game calmly.”

Players to watch: With four goals in eight appearances against Getafe, Madrid can reasonably expect Joselu to step up with others absent, potentially at an early moment as the last two of those came before half-time. Meanwhile, Getafe’s Mayoral will try to be a thorn in Madrid’s side again, having scored here in September 2019 for Levante.

Hot stat: Real Madrid have kept a first half clean sheet in 14 of their last 17 LL home games.
