Real Sociedad Osasuna prediction 2025-02-06

Real Sociedad vs Osasuna prediction: SPAIN: Copa del Rey betting tips on match 2025-02-05 18:30.
[p]Thursday’s Copa del Rey (CdR) meeting between Real Sociedad and Osasuna will be the second meeting between the sides in just four days, with Sunday’s 2-1 loss in Pamplona a fourth defeat in five games across all competitions for Sociedad (W1). Now in with a chance of making the semis of this competition for the second season running, the cup has offered some respite for a Sociedad side struggling in league action. [/p]

[p]After Sunday’s reverse, the White and Blues sit mid-table in La Liga and have worryingly won just one of their last five H2Hs with Osasuna (D1, L3), though that sole success did come in the CdR last season. Two-time winners of the competition, Imanol Alguacil’s side also got the better of their quarter-final opponents en-route to lifting the cup in the 2019/20 season, which should give fans reason to believe they can confirm their short odds for this game despite the recent H2H history.[/p]

[p]Nonetheless, Osasuna are flying high in La Liga and sit on the cusp of the European spots after their victory at the weekend. Vicente Moreno has seen his side beaten just four times in their last 21 matches across all competitions (W9, D8), and with each of their four most recent victories coming by a one-goal margin, Osasuna seem to be developing a useful knack of grinding out results.[/p]

[p]The Reds have never won the CdR, with the closest they’ve come being runners-up on two occasions, most recently in 2022/23 when Real Madrid beat them in the final. Their run in this season’s edition has seen them drawn away from home in every round to date, but that hasn’t deterred them too much as they’ve netted 2+ goals in every game and fittingly won each of the last three by a one-goal margin.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Defender Aihen Muñoz has never lost a H2H against Osasuna (W3, D3) and has kept a clean sheet in two of his last three appearances against Thursday’s opponents. Opposite number Rubén Peña has lost just one of his five trips to the Reale Arena to date (W3, D1), winning more career games against just four other opponents.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Three of Osasuna’s four CdR games this season saw exactly five total goals. [/p]
