Real Sociedad Sevilla prediction 2025-03-09

Real Sociedad vs Sevilla prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2025-03-08 20:00.
[p]Real Sociedad have had a tough time in domestic competition recently, losing five of their last seven La Liga games (W2) in addition to being beaten in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final on home soil by Real Madrid (1-0). Their hopes of European qualification have been damaged as a result, with Imanol Alguacil’s side starting this round four points outside the top six.[/p]

[p]The White and Blues’ overall form was boosted by coming from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against Manchester United in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League Round of 16 tie on Thursday night. On the back of that, there’s further cause to be hopeful for Sunday’s clash with Sevilla considering Sociedad won four of the last five La Liga H2Hs (L1) while scoring exactly two goals in each of the five games during that sequence.[/p]

[p]Sevilla have also struggled for wins recently, though five draws from their last eight games (W2, L1) at least show they have at least been difficult to beat. Those results have just about been enough to keep them in the hunt for European qualification, beginning the round one point behind Sociedad and five behind the top six, so wins will now be needed quickly to avoid being cut adrift completely as the business end of the season approaches.[/p]

[p]García Pimienta’s side avoided defeat in their last four away games (W2, D2), which is their best away run of the season so far, but the omens don’t appear positive ahead of this trip considering they lost five of their last six league visits to the Basque Country (D1). They last failed to win seven successive La Liga games in the region during a period that ended in 2015, which is a record they’ll hope to avoid levelling this weekend.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Sociedad midfielder Brais Méndez has accumulated four career goals against Sevilla, his joint-highest tally against a single opponent. Adrià Pedrosa doesn’t have happy memories of San Sebastian, losing each of his last three away H2Hs playing for either Sevilla or Espanyol. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Sevilla boss GarcĂa Pimienta has not won any of his three previous H2Hs with Sociedad (D1, L2), and is yet to see any of his sides score a goal against them.[/p]
