Reims Le Havre prediction 2025-01-19

Reims vs Le Havre prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2025-01-18 16:15.
[p]Reims have not won a Ligue 1 match since beating Le Havre 3-0 away from home in mid-November (D3, L3), although a Coupe de France penalty shootout win over Monaco on Tuesday will no doubt have lifted their spirits. Their league season is subsequently now at a crossroads as they head into the weekend sitting 12th, just four points above the relegation play-off place, while they were eight points off sixth-placed Lyon at the start of the round. [/p]

[p]It does seem that Reims have sorted out the scoring issues that saw them fail to find the net in three league games heading into Christmas. Since the turn of the year, the problems facing Luka Elsner’s men have mainly been at the other end, as they have conceded nine goals across their last four matches in all competitions – seven of which have arrived from the 50th minute onwards. [/p]

[p]One consolation for Reims is that Le Havre are in far more dire straits, having lost their last five Ligue 1 games, as well as embarrassingly exiting the Coupe de France after losing to fourth-tier Stade Briochin 1-0. The Sky and Navy’s awful form has left them second from bottom after matchday 17, but this is a fixture one would imagine the visiting players would be up for, given that Elsner left them for his current employers last summer.[/p]

[p]Le Havre’s current issues are similar to Reims’, as Didier Digard’s side have conceded seven goals in their two games in 2025 so far. Notably, their two wins away from home this season have seen them keep clean sheets against bottom-half opponents, something which should give the squad confidence ahead of a trip to the Stade Auguste-Delaune. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Teddy Teuma registered his first goal involvement for Reims since early October in midweek, but the 31-year-old has emerged victorious from just three of the six matches in which he has scored for the club (D1, L2). AndrĂ© Ayew netted both of Le Havre’s goals in 2025 to date – his first two goals of the season – and he has also scored three times against Reims during his career, albeit not since 2014/15 for Marseille. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Le Havre’s opponents on the day received the first yellow card in six of their last seven league games. [/p]
