Reims vs Strasbourg prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2023-11-30 20:00.
After losing their last two games and conceding three goals in both, high-flying Reims will be looking to get back to winning ways on Friday evening when they host Strasbourg. The Red and Whites have alternated between a win and a defeat across each of their last seven home matches (W3, L4), and their fans will be hoping that trend continues after they were beaten by PSG here before the international break.
All three of those victories were accompanied by a clean sheet, but scoring goals has become an issue for Will Still’s side who have found the net only 14 times from their last 13 home league matches (W5, D2, L6). If Reims fail to score more than once on Friday, it will be seven matches at any venue with no more than one goal scored for the hosts, a run which stretches back to early October’s 2-0 victory over basement boys Lyon.
Strasbourg have their own problems at the top end of the pitch, and away from home they are particularly goal shy, netting just twice all season – the joint-lowest total in the division. Their last seven league fixtures have yielded only four goals, but Le Racing are unbeaten in three matches (D3) and even opened the scoring in a 1-1 draw with Marseille last time out.
Patrick Vieira’s men have failed to win any of their last six though (D3, L3), and travel east just two points clear of the drop zone as a result. Thankfully this is a fixture they have good memories of, winning this match-up 2-0 last season, while they’ve lost just one of the last four league visits here.
Players to watch: Forward Junya Ito has been involved in both of Reims’ last two goals, with an assist away at Rennes on Sunday and the winner at Nantes earlier in the month. Emmanuel Emegha got his second goal of the season last Saturday, with both strikes serving as the opener.
Hot stat: Strasbourg haven’t drawn 0-0 on the road in Ligue 1 since March 2022.
