Rennes Angers prediction 2024-12-15

Rennes vs Angers prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-12-14 16:00.
[p]Rennes profited from a first-half red card in their last game of November against Saint-Étienne (5-0), but the shoe was on the other foot in their most recent match as they lost the Derby Breton 1-0 at Nantes. That latest Ligue 1 defeat – the Red and Blacks’ fourth in five – means that Jorge Sampaoli’s men enter the weekend just one point above the bottom three, something that they will be keen to address on Sunday against fellow strugglers Angers. [/p]

[p]One of the encouraging things for Rennes this season is that there has only been one occasion at home when they have opened the scoring and failed to win (W4, D1), with all four of those victories being accompanied by clean sheets. Their record at Roazhon Park against Angers has been similarly strong of late, having won seven of their last nine such meetings (D1, L1). [/p]

[p]Angers begin this weekend one point and three places below Rennes in 15th, hovering above the relegation zone, although after a disastrous start to the campaign which saw them fail to win any of their first eight games (D4, L4), their form has picked up significantly, with three victories in their last six matches (L3). [/p]

[p]Something that will further buoy boss Alexandre Dujeux ahead of facing Rennes is that two of those wins have come away from home by the same 1-0 scoreline, including a superb triumph against title-chasing Monaco. Don’t expect Angers to play expansively in this match either, as their Ligue 1 matches on the road this season have featured the fewest goals per game of any side (1.57). [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Ludovic Blas shone against Saint-Étienne in Rennes’ last home encounter with a goal and two assists, while the 26-year-old netted three times against Angers for previous club Nantes. Farid El Melali assisted Angers’ winner on their last away trip, while his two most recent scoring appearances have seen the Black and Whites pick up at least a point on their travels – both of those goals arrived after half-time. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: None of Rennes’ last six matches have seen both teams score. [/p]
