Rennes Monaco prediction 2024-10-05

Rennes vs Monaco prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-10-04 19:00.
[p]Having recorded just two wins across the opening six rounds (W2, D1, L3), Rennes enter matchday seven of Ligue 1 looking to solidify themselves in the top-half. Julien Stéphan’s men have picked up fewer points than their current haul of seven at this stage in just two of their last 11 top-flight seasons, so a quick reversal in the 50th home H2H against Monaco is the number one priority (REN: W18, D12, L19). [/p]

[p]Despite their tepid start, Rennes could benefit from a home return as they’re unbeaten here in four games spanning back to April (W2, D2). That’s not a certainty though, as the Red and Blacks had lost three of their four home league games prior to their streak, while boss Stéphan has managed only two victories in nine personal clashes against Monaco (W2, D2, L5). [/p]

[p]There have been no such teething issues for Monaco, who have dropped just two of the first 18 available points (W5, D1) to record their strongest start in the three-points-per-win era. Boss Adi HĂĽtter oversaw a pair of H2H victories by single-goal margins in 2023/24 too, although perhaps their midweek trip to Croatia – in which they came from two goals down to rescue a draw – will give them something of a disadvantage in terms of preparation. [/p]

[p]Otherwise, playing away shouldn’t faze Monaco too much after they’ve scored five unanswered goals across their pair of league trips so far this season. In fact, the Monégasques have won without reply and by multi-goal margins in four of their last five league trips overall. The travelling fans may expect a similar result here, especially as Monaco have largely dominated across the last nine league H2Hs (W6, D1, L2). [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Rennes’ Ludovic Blas has directly contributed to goals in four of the six league rounds so far (G2, A2), and he’s had a hand in goals in two of his last three meetings against Monaco (G1, A1). Trying to stop him could be defender Vanderson, who scored and was sent off in this fixture last term. He has also been booked in two of Monaco’s last three league games along with scoring in their latest away trip! [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Monaco have scored at least twice in 12 of their last 13 away league games (W10, D1, L2). [/p]
