Rennes Reims prediction 2025-02-21

Rennes vs Reims prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2025-02-20 19:45.
[p]Just one point separates Rennes and Reims in the lower reaches of the Ligue 1 standings, so neither side are where they want to be after losing in the last round. Rennes’ 2-0 loss to Lille was a tough one to take as both goals came late after they went down to ten men, although they’d won two league games in a row under new manager Habib Beye prior to that.[/p]

[p]That was, however, their third defeat across their last four home Ligue 1 games (W1), so the former Senegal international has work to do at Roazhon Park if the Red and Blacks are to move up the table. He’ll also have to do it without key players in the form of goalkeeper Brice Samba and forward Ludovic Blas (six league goals this term, five at home) who are suspended for this clash.[/p]

[p]Like Rennes, Reims also recently changed managers but after sacking Luka Elsner earlier this month, they’ve lost all three league games under caretaker boss Samba Diawara, most recently 1-0 against Angers. They’ve also failed to score in any of their last three competitive outings (W1, L2), with their sole victory across that run coming via a penalty shootout against fifth-tier Bourgoin-Jallieu.[/p]

[p]The Red and Whites lost their last two trips here while conceding three times, which doesn’t bode well for their chances of ending a four-match winless run in league away fixtures (D2, L2), particularly given their struggles in front of goal. The loss of forward Jordan Siebatcheu, who suffered a hamstring injury against Bourgoin-Jallieu, only adds to those problems ahead of an important clash. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Arnaud Kalimuendo has scored more goals at home for Rennes in the league this term (six) than any other player – four of those six came between the 20th minute and half-time. Keito Nakamura, the last Reims player to get on the scoresheet in Ligue 1, has netted his last four goals on the road, with the three most recent arriving between the 20th and 60th minute.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: There’s been an average of 1.33 goals per game after the 75th minute across Rennes’ last three fixtures (W2, L1).[/p]
