Romania vs Bosnia & Herzegovina prediction: EUROPE: World Championship – Qualification betting tips on match 2025-03-20 19:45.
[p]It’s been a long 27 years for supporters of Romania, who haven’t seen their nation appear on the World Cup stage since 1998. Their latest chance to grace the biggest stage of them all comes for the 2026 World Cup which will be held in the USA, Mexico and Canada, and on paper they’ve been handed a favourable qualification group which contains San Marino, Cyprus, Austria and Bosnia and Herzegovina. [/p]
[p]Romania are the second-highest ranked nation in the group, so they look good value to secure at least a play-off spot. They’ll have their sights firmly set on winning the group and the automatic qualification that comes with it though, and their campaign could get off to a positive start against a Bosnia side they’ve beaten in four of their six H2Hs (L2). Six successive international wins and five wins from their last seven home World Cup qualifiers (WCQ) should reinforce belief. [/p]
[p]Bosnia have appeared at a World Cup finals more recently than their hosts, reaching the 2014 edition in Brazil, but their recent form has been horrific. The Balkan country haven’t won an international fixture since October 2023, losing ten of their 12 fixtures since (D2), although it’s worth noting that ten of those games came against sides ranked higher than Romania (#38) in FIFA’s rankings. [/p]
[p]They’ve fared a little better in WCQs at least, losing only three of their last eight such games, yet they’ve only won once in that time too (D4). In pursuit of a positive start to their campaign, their last three WCQ victories have all encouragingly come on foreign soil, which will surely inspire belief they can avoid defeat in Romania for the first time ever (L3). [/p]
[p]Players to watch: Nicolae Stanciu has scored more goals for Romania (15) than anyone in the latest squad – the last four of those all opened the scoring. Bosnia’s Edin DĹľeko has scored over twice as many goals for his country as anyone else. He’s scored in two of the last four H2Hs, with both strikes being the third goal of the game. [/p]
[p]Hot stat: Bosnia have scored in eight successive WCQs as the designated away side. [/p]
