Rotherham Leicester prediction 2023-08-26

Rotherham vs Leicester prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2023-08-25 14:00.
It’s been a sobering start to the Championship season for Rotherham United, who are winless from their opening three games (D1, L2) and sit inside the relegation zone as a result. The Millers have conceded eight goals after three rounds, the most in the division, leaving boss Matt Taylor “frustrated” with his side’s efforts as they slid to a 2-1 defeat to Sunderland last time out.

Ill-discipline certainly isn’t helping his side, who’ve had a player sent off twice already this term, a factor that’s contributed to a miserable run of just one win in ten league matches (D4, L5). A return to the AESSEAL New York Stadium is perhaps timely then considering Rotherham claimed 33 of their 50 points in 2022/23 on their own turf (W9, D6, L8), while they avoided defeat in their opening home game of the campaign here against Blackburn (D 2-2), albeit despite leading 2-0.

Rotherham manager Taylor lamented their position in the transfer market due to the “levels” of their rivals being too much, and Leicester City are certainly among the teams he was referencing. Premier League and FA Cup winners in the past decade, the Foxes have made a dream start to life in the second tier, winning each of their first four competitive matches for the first time in club history.

A last-gasp victory over Cardiff left boss Enzo Maresca “very happy” as Leicester climbed into the automatic promotion places at this early stage. The Italian will now be keen to oversee an improvement in the Foxes’ form on the road and he appears to be on the right lines, as despite ending their top-flight stay by failing to win any of their last eight games away from the King Power Stadium (D3, L5), they’ve won their two travelling games so far this season ‘to nil’.

Players to watch: Home is where the heart is at Rotherham for Jordan Hugill, who has netted four of his five goals for the club in home matches. Leicester could hand a start to Chelsea loanee Cesare Casadei here, who struck just his second senior goal in stoppage time to beat Cardiff last time out.

Hot stat: Four of Leicester’s five Championship goals this season have arrived beyond the 70th minute.
