Rotherham QPR prediction 2023-11-04

Rotherham vs QPR prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2023-11-03 15:00.
Rotherham were seemingly on the road to recovery having picked up a draw and a win in the Championship either side of the international break, only to slump to an awful 2-0 defeat in the South Yorkshire derby against basement boys Sheffield Wednesday last weekend. The loss left manager Matt Taylor feeling “bitterly disappointed, frustrated, upset and angry”, which is most likely how their fans feel seeing their team occupy a place in the relegation zone as a result.

Despite their disappointment, the Aesseal New York Stadium faithful know home is where the Millers do their best work, as it’s where all eight of their wins this year have come, including the 2-0 victory over Coventry in their last home match. Rotherham are also on a profitable streak when hosting upcoming opponents Queens Park Rangers, against whom they’re undefeated in their last four home encounters (W3, D1).

That doesn’t bode well for an already struggling QPR side who lost their sixth match in succession, despite a valiant showing with ten men to league-leaders Leicester (2-1). It’s no surprise then that QPR are neighbours with their hosts in the standings after such a dismal run of form, sitting one point and one place below Rotherham in 23rd, with the worst goal difference in the league (-16).

That proved to be the final straw for the board at Loftus Road, who parted ways with manager Gareth Ainsworth. The R’s poached Spaniard Martí Cifuentes from Swedish side Hammarby to try and save their sinking ship, but with no experience in English football management, it remains to be seen whether he can prevent QPR from losing seven successive league games for the first time since February 2019.

Players to watch: Rotherham’s Jordan Hugill has scored four goals in his last six home games against QPR, three of which came after half-time. The visitors will look to Kenneth Paal to not only contain Hugill, but get on the scoresheet too, with all his four QPR goals being his team’s last on the day.

Hot stat: Both teams have scored in 12 of Rotherham’s last 15 home matches.
