Rotherham were seemingly on the road to recovery having picked up a draw and a win in the Championship either side of the international break, only to slump to an awful 2-0 defeat in the South Yorkshire derby against basement boys Sheffield Wednesday last weekend. That proved to be the final straw for the board at Loftus Road, who parted ways with manager Gareth Ainsworth. The R’s poached Spaniard Martà Cifuentes from Swedish side Hammarby to try and save their sinking ship, but with no experience in English football management, it remains to be seen whether he can prevent QPR from losing seven successive league games for the first time since February 2019.
Players to watch: Rotherham’s Jordan Hugill has scored four goals in his last six home games against QPR, three of which came after half-time. The visitors will look to Kenneth Paal to not only contain Hugill, but get on the scoresheet too, with all his four QPR goals being his team’s last on the day.
