Sampdoria Cremonese prediction 2023-04-08

Sampdoria vs Cremonese prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2023-04-07 14:30.
A 3-0 defeat against Roma was hardly an ideal return to Serie A (SA) after the international break for Sampdoria as their gap for safety grew to ten points by the end of last weekend. Dejan Stanković’s men have one of their last chances to kickstart a survival bid here as they host rock-bottom Cremonese who they beat 1-0 in this season’s reverse fixture, which was one of their mere three SA victories this term.

However, Sampdoria have lost each of their last three home top-flight matches against newly-promoted opponents, failing to score in the last two. The Blucerchiati did win their last league match here (Verona 3-1), but it was their first home win this SA season (D4, L9), with no team in the top-five European Leagues collecting fewer victories on home turf.

Cremonese are trailing their opponents by two points and with just one win and 13 points from the opening 28 rounds (D10, L17), they seem to be doomed for an immediate return to Serie B. Davide Ballardini’s men also suffered a 2-0 defeat in their midweek Coppa Italia semi-final first leg against Fiorentina, so even their morale-raising cup run seems to be nearly over.

Still in search of their first away league victory this term (D7, L7), hope exists that Cremonese could register their maiden win on the road as they’ve scored five goals in their last three away trips. All of those strikes arrived after half-time, but the Tigers are vulnerable late in games themselves, having conceded a division-high 12 goals from substitutes, including two in a 3-1 defeat to Atalanta in their last SA outing.

Players to watch: Alessandro Zanoli rounded off the scoring in Sampdoria’s last home match and became the second youngest Italian defender with at least one goal and assist this SA season. For Cremonese, Cyriel Dessers has netted his last three goals on the road, with two arriving after the break.

Hot stat: Sampdoria have lost a league-high 13 matches after trailing at half-time.
