Serbia Austria prediction 2025-03-23

Serbia vs Austria prediction: EUROPE: UEFA Nations League – League A/B – Relegation betting tips on match 2025-03-22 17:00.
[p]Serbia waited for a little over an hour to register their first shot on target on Thursday in the first leg of the UEFA Nations League (UNL) A/B play-off against Austria, but made it count to secure a 1-1 draw. That marked a sixth stalemate for the Eagles in their last nine matches (W1, L2) and a repeat result would at least take the game into extra time as they look to maintain their UNL League A status for the 2026/27 cycle.[/p]

[p]Dragan Stojković’s side have avoided defeat in ten of their last 12 UNL matches (W5, D5), while playing at home makes them even more dangerous, as Serbia are unbeaten across their last five UNL home matches (W3, D2). They kept three clean sheets across the last three of those games, including against current UNL holders and Euro 2024 winners Spain, but will have to play in front of reduced home support here after a UEFA sanction.[/p]

[p]Austria’s first-leg draw was their second game running to end 1-1 despite them opening the scoring – it’s actually now five games in a row which Austria have scored first. The previous draw against Slovenia denied them automatic promotion from Group B3, but Ralf Rangnick’s side can at least take comfort from a five-game unbeaten UNL run (W3, D2) as they bid to bounce back to League A at the first time of asking.[/p]

[p]That sequence in this competition is Austria’s longest unbeaten run in a single UNL edition, but their away form could derail their promotion hopes. The visitors have won just once across their last five away UNL matches (D1, L3) and four of those matches produced exactly two goals, although the fact only one of their 11 UNL games as the designated away side ended level in regulation time (W6, L4) suggests this tie should be decided in 90 minutes.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: A goal from Luka Jović could be key for Serbia’s progression hopes, as his nation have won all three UNL games in which he’s scored. Michael Gregoritsch has scored three goals in Austria’s last four UNL games, with all three serving as their last goal of the match.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Five of Serbia’s last eight UNL matches produced exactly two total goals.[/p]
