Servette Plzen prediction 2024-03-07

Servette vs Plzen prediction: EUROPE: Europa Conference League – Play Offs betting tips on match 2024-03-06 20:00.
After finishing third in their Europa League group, Servette negotiated a tough UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL) knockout play-off tie against Ludogorets. Those two matches have formed part of a hugely encouraging six-game unbeaten run (W5, D1), as RenĂ© Weiler’s men sit just one point off leaders Young Boys in the Swiss Super League ahead of their first-ever last-16 clash in a modern European format.

Servette’s upcoming opponents are Viktoria Plzeƈ, the second Czech club that the Maroons have faced this season after suffering a pair of multi-goal defeats against Slavia Prague in the Europa League. However, the Swiss outfit will be confident about giving a good account of themselves at the Stade de Genùve, where they are unbeaten in 14 matches (W10, D4) across all competitions.

After losing all six of their Champions League group encounters last term, Plzeƈ have enjoyed themselves much more in the UECL this campaign, winning all six of their group games to progress to the knockout phase. Miroslav Koubek’s men have looked imperious in European action this year, winning 11 of their 12 outings so far including qualifiers (D1).

Although their league title hopes have all but disappeared, Plzeƈ are still in with a shot of a memorable cup double and should arrive confident as they haven’t tasted defeat since mid-November (W10, D2 since). And in their only previous meetings with Swiss opponents, they managed to score six times in two matches (W1, L1) against Lugano in the Europa League group stage en route to the last 16 in 2017/18.

Players to watch: Servette have interestingly kept a clean sheet in each of the last four games in which TimothĂ© Cognat has either scored or assisted (G3, A1). Meanwhile, Plzeƈ’s Pavel Ć ulc has netted five goals in his last three appearances, with three of those efforts arriving between the 45th and 50th minute.

Hot stat: Only once in Servette’s last 17 matches have both teams on the day scored before half-time.
