Servette Sheriff Tiraspol prediction 2023-11-09

Servette vs Sheriff Tiraspol prediction: EUROPE: Europa League – Group Stage betting tips on match 2023-11-08 17:45.
Servette and Sheriff Tiraspol are both searching for their first UEFA Europa League (UEL) group stage win of the season, which makes this meeting between the clubs feel especially significant following their 1-1 draw last month. Setting aside their struggles on the continental stage, Servette have started to build up a head of steam domestically and head into this encounter unbeaten in six matches across all competitions (W5, D1).

In order to give themselves a good chance of extending that run here, René Weiler’s men need to become more solid at the back, having failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their ten competitive games at home so far this term. That said, the Maroons are undefeated this season after scoring the opener (W8, D3), although one of those three draws came against Sheriff in the reverse fixture.

Sheriff travel to Stade de Genève sitting bottom of Group G – below their opponents on goal difference – but are themselves unbeaten in six (W4, D2) since the 6-0 mauling suffered at Slavia Prague a month ago that led to the sacking of Roberto Bordin. Since that demoralising result, they have also only conceded twice and netted an impressive 16 times, but will be looking to write a new script under Bordin’s successor Roman Pylypchuk, with the team going 1-0 down on each of their last nine European away trips!

Prior to their 1-1 draw with Servette, the Yellow-Blacks’ only other clashes against Swiss sides resulted in two defeats against Basel, but those losses were 13 years ago, and Sheriff can take great heart from the fact that they have secured European group phase victories on their travels in their last three such campaigns, including a hugely memorable 2-1 triumph over Real Madrid in September 2021.

Players to watch: Following a five-match goal drought, Chris Bedia has netted in each of his last three games – but picked up a yellow card each time as well. Jerome Ngom Mbekeli, meanwhile, has scored in both of his most recent league outings, but is yet to find the net in a European group stage fixture.

Hot stat: The last 16 halves of European football involving Sheriff have seen a goal scored.
